A: The website migration service offered by Commit Hosting is totally free of cost and involves transferring all your website files, databases and e–mails from your present hosting provider to your brand new web hosting account with us. We’ll also edit all the configuration settings needed for your websites to be fully functional on our leading–edge cloud hosting platform.Our techs are fully capable of moving any type of website. With years of experience in this field, they are experts in the inner workings of our hosting platform, our Control Panel and all other popular Control Panels. For them, transferring a custom application with a lot of custom libraries is as elementary as moving a plain WordPress weblog.

A: While we can’t give you a precise time frame, since there are plenty of factors, among them the size of the web files and databases, the physical location of the current host’s server, the complexity of your site and the current workload of our Website Migration Department, etc., we will give our best to transfer your web site within 48 hours, and in some cases – within 24 hours (in case the website content is not very large).

A: Yup. We will need the name of the website that you wish us to migrate. We’ll also require a means to log into your present web hosting account so that we can get the files associated with your site.

A: In order for us to begin the transfer of your hosting account, you must already have an account with us. Opening an account with us requires that you to disclose more or less the same information you have provided to your present web hosting provider. We’ve also got a very strict Privacy Policy, which specifies how private data is handled.

A: No. Your site will stay fully operational during the migration. Once everything is completed on our end, we will let you know so that you can preview it and check for any problems. If everything’s fine, all you will need to do is change your domain name’s DNS resource records.

A: Nope. We’ll never get in touch with your web hosting provider about anything. They will not be aware of the web site transfer either.

A: Yes. We support all conventional Linux–driven hosting platforms. We do not support Windows–powered hosting platforms, since we do not offer Windows web hosting solutions ourselves.In addition, we don’t support proprietary website creation and management user interfaces such as Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
